QUESTION:
My fiancé has always been a pleasure rider and was looking to show horses. What is a good resource for her to look into to ‘learn the ropes’ of different competitions? (Be it barrel racing, hunter/jumper, or just ‘showing’ the horse) I’m extremely inexperienced and I just want to perpetuate her dream of working with her horses, maybe even for money! 😉 Are there any books that you could recommend or some site to contact? Thank you for any information!

Hi Bret, look up www.aqha.com, or www.4ahorse.com, and call the AQHA at 806-376-4888 and ask for some brochures and literature on showing the American Quarter Horse. This is the best place to start. Take lessons, start riding and she will know where she wants to go.
