Bill Distler

Upon retirement as an engineer of jet and rocket engines, I looked to keep active mentally and physically but on a quieter scale. Equestrian activities seemed to fit and Mark Sheridan’s analytical style of training was of interest. I became his “go to” person for many of the minor tasks that go into maintaining a quality equestrian program.

So Informers Isle, a.k.a. “Bennie”

Our beloved 20-year-old Sorrel gelding, “Bennie”, is a former show horse with AQHA points in Western and English events. After retiring from his show career, Bennie has settled in as an extremely gentle and broke lesson horse for all levels of riders.


A Big Finish, a.k.a. “Bentley”

A 2000 Quarter Horse 17-hand Bay gelding who has been shown extensively and has won circuit champion at major shows. A gentle giant, Bentley is perfect for English or Western Riding and loves to jump!

Silver’s Blue Plate Special, a.k.a. “Penny”

Penny is an 8-year-old Blue Roan Rocky Mountain mare out of Sonny’s Silver Dollar. Penny was shown for five years in amateur, youth and professional classes. She has shown and won in ACTHA competitions and has been used in a gaited dressage demo by Gill Merrick, the dressage Olympic Team Leader. She has won the prestigious UMH Junior Robinson Super Horse Award which highlights her excellent versatility by competing in Western Pleasure, Trail Obstacle, the 4-Gait (canter) class, Conformation, and Country Trail Pleasure
