QUESTION:
What do you look for in confirmation in a quarter horse?
ANSWER:
Hi Judi,
It all depends on what you need to use your horse for. First of all look for good straight legs, good feet, and soundness. If you need to rope or work cattle you don’t want a 16’3″ hand horse. If you are going to jump you don’t want a 14’3″ horse. Any type for trail riding is just fine. More importantly to myself is disposition and temperament. I don’t care how well they are built or how good their conformation is if they are bad minded. It won’t work for any event. Have a vet exam done and get some quality professional help when looking for that particular horse.
Thanks…
Mark
